Visto is seeking an experienced engineer specializing in web application
development with a focus on AJAX, DHTML and modern web architecture and
interaction. The candidate will perform web application engineering,
user interface construction and integration into backend Visto services.
Applications will be targeted towards exciting new mobile platforms.

Keys to success:

3-5 years experience designing and implementing web applications

Intermediate to advanced skills coding in PHP, JSP, Ruby on Rails
or other current web development platforms

Advanced knowledge of XML, XSLT, DHTML and CSS

Experience integrating web applications with back-end web services
and databases

Experience with web application design for mobile devices

Ability to quickly evolve applications in fast-paced environment
with minimal requirements specification

Responsibilities include:

Develop AJAX-style applications targeted at specific mobile
platforms which integrate data from Visto's backend systems into dynamic
task driven interfaces

Work with our product design managers and advanced engineering
staff and system architects to ensure robust and quality deliverables

Work with marketing team to implement necessary requirements

Work with internal interaction design team to create and
integrate all necessary UI resources, (icons, graphics, text)

Maintain and extend application feature sets in a highly agile

Educational Requirements:

BS in computer science or equivalent work experience

Required Skills & Experience:

AJAX using PHP, .Net, JSP, Ruby on Rails or equivalent

Experience with Apache / Tomcat server environments

Experience with Oracle-driven web solutions


Experience with coding web applications for access on mobile

Bonus Points for:

Developing applications for complex enterprise or
telecommunications environments

Experience developing applications targeted at Apples Safari

Knowledge of Windows Mobile, Symbian, BREW, J2ME or other
mobile platforms

Familiarity with IMAP, POP, Exchange, Notes or other messaging
