Switch design tips

I am looking for a source for UI design tips/guidelines for Swing
(Java).

I am looking for graphic design-type guidelines, such as font (no
anti-aliasing) and image constraints (no complex blends), rather than
the more prolific programming tutorials.

Can anyone point me to a book or site?
