Join us for our next Puget Sound IXDA meeting - hosted by Microsoft's Office
Labs (www.officelabs.com) on October 23 at 7pm, on Microsoft's main campus -
Building 33.
"Game Onward: Lessons from game design"
This is a chance to learn where the fields of interaction design and game
design overlap, and to learn more about how games challenge, reward, and
engage players.
We'll hear how game designers use prototyping and sketching (Daniel Cook of
lostgarden.com), how usability techniques are used to fine-tune casual game
play (Mac Smith of Microsoft Game Studios), and how narrative and
storytelling immerse players in experiences (Mark Long of Zombie Studios).

I'm getting Irony Overload off Mac Smith of Microsoft Game Studios.
This sounds really interesting. It is too bad I can't make it. Will
there be a way to listen in on this remotely? Is there a place I can
watch to get notes, slides, or whatever from this?
I fell into IxD through Game Design myself.

William, it sounds like Mac had to drop out, but George Amaya (also
from Microsoft's Games User Research group) is going to join us
instead.
We will be recording these sessions, but I don't know the details of
where they'll be published yet.
