Chicago IxDA4

Tomorrow night is the November IxDA event in Chicago. We've had an
enthusiastic response!

Due to space constraints we're unable to gather anymore RSVPs. For those who
have already RSVPd, you'll need to give your name at security tomorrow night
to enter. If you missed the RSVP period and would like to participate
online, we'll be sending details for viewing the webstream shortly, so
please join us there!

If you did RSVP "Yes" but can't make it, please send an email to this
address - chicago-local at ixda.org - and let us know. Food will be provided so
we'd like to plan for the number of attendees.

Here's more on our topic, which will be presented by Mike Wood:

*Social to Mobile: Importing large web-based dashboards into small mobile

The popularity of large dashboard based websites has exploded as part of Web
2.0, including but not limited to Social Networking (MySpace, Facebook,
etc.), Media Consumption (Netflix, Last.fm, etc.) and News. The web-based
dashboard contains several key components working in concert to provide
content, status updates, information on community members and many other
important but disparate features. As these dashboards make their way onto
mobile devices we are faced with having to make tough decisions regarding
which use cases to prioritize, how to design for competing needs and how to
integrate stand-alone brands into the mobile ecosystem. This discussion will
be an exchange among web designers and mobile designers to examine this
issue from both sides.

Time: 6:30-8:00
Address: 233 N. Michigan, 8th floor

We look forward to seeing you there!
