Visual Designer / Web Applications/ Heavy transactional website
Our client is seeking a Visual Designer to help design innovative web-based
applications used by the world's leading business and investment
decision-makers. The successful candidate must be able to work under tight
deadlines and work independently; work on multiple projects at once; manage
individual workload efficiently and effectively; and must have excellent
communication skills. Our client is looking for someone with a proven design
portfolio who is also strong with process and implementation.
Position Responsibilities:
Design and development of web user interfaces
Create illustrations and original icons
Document interactive solutions through text and diagrams ensuring that the
user experience meets expectations for utility and ease-of-use while meeting
related business/project objectives and requirements
Collaborate with other members of the product design team to ensure projects
are delivered on time and in budget
Participate in cross-functional teams to define requirements for new
products; seeking ways to enhance user experience and brand presence
Help develop and implement a design process for the company
Support UI enhancements for existing applications
Aid in the design and development of web-based marketing projects/campaigns
Perform simple content updates
Position Requirements:
BFA in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related Design field
5+ years experience in web or application design
Solid design process experience
Organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated comprehension (portfolio) of design theory, interactive design
theory, page layout, typography and color
Knowledge of various prototyping methods and how to apply them
An understanding of information architecture and hierarchy
Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, Flash, and JavaScript
Experience in user-centric design techniques
Complete command of Adobe CS3 suite (Photoshop and Fireworks in particular
and InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat)
Proven experience in resolving project issues, developing cross-departmental
consensus, collaboration, and coordination
User Interface Engineer
Our client is seeking a User Interface Engineer to help design, develop and
support large multiple enterprise-level applications. The successful
candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines and work independently;
work on multiple projects at once; manage individual workload efficiently
and effectively; and must have excellent communication skills.
Position Responsibilities:
Design and document interactive solutions through text and diagrams ensuring
that the user experience meets expectations for utility and ease-of-use
while meeting related business/project objectives and requirements
Work with development team and designers to implement web interfaces
Translate wireframes into optimized HTML markup
Support UI enhancements for existing applications
Develop UI solutions for new applications and visual problems
Optimize page design layouts for smaller file size
Implement web standards and accessibility to enhance SEO and Usability
Help resolve daily cross-browser incompatibility issues and other interface
bugs
Position Requirements:
BA/BFA in Design, BS in Computer Science or related area or relevant work
experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in web development and presentation layer
design and coding within a cross disciplinary environment
Demonstrated implementation of a UI toolkit (YUI [preferred], Dojo, JQuery,
etc.)
Strong JavaScript skills, additionally skilled in XHTML, CSS and XSLT
Must be able to hand-code XHTML, CSS2 and JavaScript
In-Depth knowledge of Web Standards and trends (508 compliance, progressive
enhancement, SEO)
Working knowledge of the browser box model and cross-browser
incompatibilities
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, ASP.NET , C# or Flash a plus
Knowledge of the full development life cycle from requirements to launch
