I’m investigating unique (aka “cool”) interface designs that are
future-thinking and present a new way of interacting with digital
content (both as a user and an audience member). I’m especially
interested in large interaction surfaces, such as Jeff Han’s Magic
Wall and Microsoft Surface.

Anything that challenges the usual human computer interaction is of
interest as well - Amazon’s Kindle, the iPhone, Plastic Logic’s
e-book reader, and the impressive pressure sensitive Impress...

Would love to hear from you if you know of other products that
challenge convention and augment (hopefully!) the user (and audience)
experience. Also, if you are, or know of, smaller less known
groups/companies with something in the works that would be great.

Many thanks!

They do great interface designs.
Not industrial or hardware, but I "think" they had some input on
the AlienWare design.

Additionally, the Silverlight Gallery would also be a good place to
browse for application ideas.

I also subscribe to Springwise Magazine, which, in my opinion,
features some of the most creative ideas from across the globe.

Hope this helps.

I'm always inspired with what Mark Coleran comes up with. Sure, it's for movies, so there's an emphasis on glitz-that- grabs. Despite that, it's amazing work that can spark creative thinking for real-world interfaces. Mark is one very talented guy IMO:
