Let me take this moment during the winter solstice holiday season to remind
people that it is very inappropriate to have your out-of-office setting set
on, and still have your subscriptions for email lists set to receive.

Most lists have a function that allow you to suspend delivery. For sure,
ours does have such a setting and it is called mail delivery. If you go to
http://discuss.ixdg.org/ you can see our guidelines and instructions
regarding this particular setting. I am also copying the instructions for
vacation settings directly into this e-mail below.

Any out of office replies I get, will cause me to do this setting for you
myself. I will let you know if it happens and just reply to that e-mail and
I will reset. Please don't use this nicety as an excuse to be lazy and not
be proactive and use the instructions that I'm putting forth.

Thank you,

I apologize for the macabre joke but (because of the peculiar way my mailbox
rules are set up) I really thought for a second that I got email from
Anthony Quinn who has been dead for a few years. :-)
