Interaction Designer Certification

Has anyone taken the Cooper
<http://www.cooper.com/content/cooperu/certification.asp> certification
courses and achieved the Cooper-Certified Interaction Designer designation?
If so, is it worth the time and monetary investment?

I attended the four-day Interaction
<http://www.cooper.com/content/cooperu/practicum.asp> Design Practicum a
year ago and, after putting the training to use in my company, I would like
to further my knowledge.

Thanks!

- Fred Meyer

Hi, Fred.

While I understand you're looking for non-Cooper opinions on this, I can
best answer part of your question. No one has completed the Cooper
certification yet because some of the classes are still in development.
That's because our foundation course--the practicum you mentioned---was far
more popular than we expected, so some of our course development time was
allocated to teaching, instead. Some reorganization this year will ensure
more new classes, which we'll announce in our newsletter and elsewhere. As
for the program's value, well, I won't say any more lest this become a
commercial announcement. ;-)

I've seen quite a lot of references to 'Cooper' over the last three months
and am interested to know if they have a UK presence.
