Hi,
Has anyone tried developing PC based prototype for touch gesture UI
using laptop touchpad?

The problem situation is:
The laptop touchpad record the movement as relative, so if I move my
finger from left to right on touchpad, the mouse cursor reaches the
right edge of the monitor.
Then when I lift the finger on touchpad and start scrolling left to
right again, I would like the mouse cursor to reposition itself to the
left of my monitor screen.

So, I was interested to know if anybody know how can we re-calibrate
the laptop touchpad to respond in Absolute terms and not relative to
the previous cursor position?

Any pointers or suggestions are welcome.

(btw. I am building a Flash Prototype which would run fullscreen on PC.)

You'd have to modify the drivers, which are proprietary, at least on
windows, you might have more luck with using linux and googling for
how to switch touchpad to absolute mode (you'll probably need some
skills with gcc though...).

Apparently, it is also called tablet mode, or stylus mode. Good luck
searching!
