Persuasion for Designers
Kim Goodwin
There's a myth that great design is self-evident. The truth is that
it's not often as easy as it sounds. Sooner or later, every designer
gets frustrated when a shortage of time and resources—or an excess of
politics—keeps your great solution from seeing the light of day. How
do you prevent it? How do you change course if it looks like things
are headed that direction? Kim Goodwin, author of Designing for the
Digital Age, will share some techniques and encourage discussion of
your own experiences.

Kim Goodwin is the author of Designing for the Digital Age, a
comprehensive new book on designing digital products and services. In
the course of her career, Kim has been an in-house and freelance
designer, in-house creative director, and VP Design at Cooper, leading
a practice of interaction, visual, and industrial designers. Kim has
led projects involving a tremendous range of design problems,
including Web sites, complex analytical and enterprise applications,
phones, medical devices, services, and even organizations. Her clients
and employers have included everything from one-man startups to the
world's largest companies, as well as universities and government
agencies. This range of experience and a passion for teaching have led
to Kim's popularity as an author and as a speaker at conferences and
companies around the world.

I hope to see you there!

Regards, Pabini

I am still seeking a Senior Interaction Designer for a fabulously secure job
in the south east. Ideal Candidates will have had training and education in
Interaction design and employment experience in the computer/electronics
industry.

Any suggestions on whom I might call?

Bill Barranco
2009

This is NOT a print or video or web job. This is a Sr. Interaction Designer
position, (UI) and a tiny step below Management, for touch control panels
for a major US appliance manufacturer. This is for someone that has an
Industrial Design background. If this is you, send me your Resume, and PDF
of your achievements or link to where I can see your work.

Thank you,

Bill Barranco
