extending usability guidelines with animations

Hi,

Does anyone know any references to - or have experiences of their own -
about systems/practises that extends a text-based usability guideline with
animations and interactive demo-sequences....are there any large-scale
systems/practises like that in use somewhere? Basically, no more time than
editing and updating the text should be spent on the sequences.

I´m doing this research as a part of my thesis and would be very grateful
for any suggestions or comments.
