Hi there,

I am looking for "pretty" pictures that explain UCD from start to
finish. I am working on preparing methodology for our product design
process and need to get inspired from work out there. I need links of
site that shows process flows. (I am pretty friendly with UCD process,
so I am less interested in reading stuffs.)

Few more things that may help building my picture is,
-- if I can learn how "requirements" and "software" engineering
processes tie to UCD.
-- If it explains how "personas" can guide UCD
-- if it explains "iterative-ness"

Can you share presentations, book marks, downloaded libraries?

Thanks in advance,

Prady

I really like Erin Malone's process maps that she submited
to AIfIA tools:
http://aifia.org/tools/
scroll all the way to the bottom.

It would be great to see something like this mapped to more
engineering centric process maps to better communicate with
those folks. If you do such a thing, please share.

The UPA poster is always fun:

This book has been mentioned countless times but for consistency's sake...

The 'Goal-Directed Design' process described in Cooper/Reimanns 'About Face
2.0' is also an essential reference IMO. Keeley's product development model,
described at the beginning, has proven an excellent visual communication for
demonstrating the importance of the 'desirability' of a product. I'll go out
on a limb and say it can be applied to any organisation's product
development offering.

I've also referred to the IBM User Engineering site on many occasions.

Invoices in the post to both parties :)....

That's pretty nice and funny.

Hi,

You can check the flow diagram from Deborah J. Mayhew at
http://drdeb.vineyard.net//index.php?loc=11&nloc=1
<http://drdeb.vineyard.net//index.php?loc=11&nloc=1>

it comes from her book "The Usability Engineering Lifecycle" which
explain nicely how to integrate with"requirements" and "software"
engineering processes
it's not exactly UCD but it has the taste

Here are two RUP-based processes, one of them mine:

IconProcess: http://www.iconprocess.com/
(more specifically:
http://www.iconprocess.com/processAndYou/userExperienceSpecialists.php)

StUX: http://www.peterboersma.com/blog/2004/11/design-engaged-was-great.html
(more spcifically
http://www.peterboersma.com/publications/de2004/Design_Engaged_STUX_Delivera
bles_Diagram_Peter_Boersma.pdf)

Guess which one is mine :-)

Prady,

When I was working with PeopleSoft, at talented designer there - John
Stickley - put this together for their Supply Chain group:
http://www.visualvocab.com/projects/peoplesoftuescm.html

I think he does a great job explaining the process and making the
diagram visually appealing too... not to mention it prints up lovely
on 8.5 x 11.

Cheers,
Sarah
