Re-selection of a tab in web app.

Hi,
I'm in the process of designing a web application with a top "bar" that
includes tabs, each leading to a different section/module of the
application (which then has a side bar with more options).
After the user clicked on one of the items in the top bar and continued
working (including going into other pages in that section), is there a
reason NOT to let her click again on the same item and go back to the
first page of that section? Any problems you encountered with this
option?
Thanks,

Actually I have tested a website with the conditions you point and some
users try to use the top bar to go back one level.. which lead us to provide
that feature that was not available when we test.
