BTW, MDes is not a 'terminal degree' everywhere. In the Industrial
Design Centre, IIT Bombay you can do a PhD after your MDes.

<plug> Next opportunity will start in July 06 if you are interested:

Sure enough, most people who do an MDes are really roaring to go into
the practice. Some of them have second thoughts 5-10 years into the
practice.

True, CMU now offers PhDs in design. However, MDes is still
considered to be a terminal degree for work in industry.

When I am working on a problem,
I never think about beauty.
I think only of how to solve the problem.

But when I have finished,
if the solution is not beautiful,
I know it is wrong.
