I have been trying to do some investigation into tools (primarily
software) that have been successfully used to help facilitate
collaboration on large creative projects. There are obviously lots of
collaboration tools for technical projects, but creative projects
seem to have gotten less attention. Has anyone else run across this
As an example, imagine a film. On it, you have a crew of hundreds of
people. Everyone tends to work in isolation, but they all depend upon
each other. Today, the process is quite manual, with some obvious
digital tools in the editing bay. But, by and large, the whole
process is quite analog.
In publishing, there are some tools that help editorial, but the
visual world seems less well served.
