QuickBooks Interaction Design Manager

management? Are you creative and strategic? Are you a person who enjoys
generating and implementing team and product vision?

Intuit QuickBooks seeks a strong UI design manager with skills and
experience in UI architecture and interaction design to help build new
and compelling generations of business-management, financial, and
accounting software for small- and mid-sized businesses. Successful
candidate will be well trained or experienced in end-to-end UI design,
illustrate an ability to apply strategic thinking and business goals to
all design work and resource allocation, possess an understanding of
both work flow and user tasks, and will be known for superb management
and design. Candidate will have worked as a hands-on UI design
practitioner, will have kept his or her hands-on design skills sharp and
up-to-date, and will have been responsible for managing and developing
an interaction design team.

Ideal candidate will:
Lead by example, smarts, and design principles
Be capable of defining and implementing design vision, end-to-end tasks
and solutions, design standards
Illustrate drive for ease of use and simplicity despite complexity of
software/desktop applications
Learn new technology quickly, from the core applications being developed
to new design tools
Collaborating with a team and product development partners, compare and
contrast various design solutions, taking technical, resource, and time
constraints into account
Prioritize among competing assignments, features, user tasks and needs
Illustrate experience in conceptual and creative development as well as
tactical UI design and implementation
Be a creative problem-solver and an effective communicator, presenter,
and negotiator
Illustrate previous effective partnership with User Research, Visual
Design, Writing, Brand, Finance, Product Management, Executive

Requirements and qualifications:
Four-year product/interaction design, industrial design, or graphic
design degree
Post-graduate design degree preferred in design or cognitive
science/human factors
Eight or more years total industry experience (corporate, software, web,
agency experience)
Five plus years application product experience. Experience in shipping
high-volume, high-profile, or award-winning software products preferred
Strong portfolio available for viewing
