Hi,
I was wondering what ways other UX team members and managers use to encourage their team to collaborate. We have a big UX group (more than 20 people) including designers, researchers, writers, and implementers and would like to encourage them to collaborate more.
Thanks
Shima

The last place I worked had a good system: a once weekly meeting with all UX Designers to bring their project problems and collaborate on solutions. Every other week that meeting included the visual designers as well so we could stay up on what each group was doing and ensure both team's goals were met.

We have a team of three, so collaboration is easy because communication bandwidth is low. To further encourage collaboration, we borrowed an activity from software development (some of us used to be developers): pairing on projects. Essentially, a couple of us will sit down and work together in the same space and at the same time on a problem. It's not enforced, but we find that it's desirable in the end to work this way because it allows us to be more productive and come up with more ideas and better results.
