So this morning I got an email message with the subject "Event notification for Mike Starr from IxDA" and the entire content was "A item to which you are subscribed has been updated" (not a link).

I have no idea what that item I'm subscribed to is. So I go to the website and since this was my first interaction with the website since the overhaul, I have to go through the whole process of requesting a password change since I did not previously have one. So 20 minutes later, I'm logged on to the website. Cool.

Now I try to find out what the hell that email message was talking about. As far as I can tell, there's no way on the website that I can find out.

One would think that the website (and associated email messages) of an organization of this nature wouldn't have made it impossible for me to track down what I'm looking for.

Of course, there's always the possibility that I'm completely clueless and completely missed the obvious.

Me too.  No indication of what the event is or any link to the event within the email.  Then forced to go through login process...and the site always seems to not recognize me and I have to request password change, etc.

Hi,

This has been reported a number of times today and we're looking into it.  I'm also not sure where that email is coming from, but I'm asking the right people and hope to have it sorted out soon.

For future bug reports pleas use the "Feedback" tab on the site that hooks into our Get Satisfaction account.  That makes it easier for us to track issues and fixes.

Sorry for the annoyance, we hope to have it sorted out soon.

Matt (& the IxDA)
