Finding the right content management system is always a difficult challenge. None of them are perfect. Finding a decent open source CMS can be even more challenging because they're being produced voluntarily by people whose main enjoyment is programming, not user experience. I've been working with Plone for over a year now and I can't image Drupal being any worse. And since IxDA has essentially no budget, open source is the natural choice. So while Drupal may not be perfect, is there a better open source solution? I doubt it.

Since this is partially a "CMS" discussion, I'll throw in my fav: modx.
It is by far the simplest for new users to 'get', in my experience. I adore the simplicity+power on the technical side, and my clients enjoy the familiar category/page structure and content editor.
