Job Summary You are an advocate for the end user and are passionate about delivering the best possible user experience by applying user-centered design techniques into the project cycle. You have knowledge of various user research/validation techniques (customer interviews, formal/informal usability testing, paper-prototyping, etc.) and understand which are appropriate for each phase of a particular project. You can collaborate and compromise to produce the most effective designs for the target audience within various constraints.
You know how to present complicated topics in an understandable way and are consistently able to develop solutions to answer the difficult questions.
You are well informed about new technologies and enjoy acquiring a formal understanding of different industries.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Develop documentation that clearly communicates the intended guest experience, undeniably represents the business strategy and objectives, and thoughtfully takes into account user interface design best practices and standards Analyze and interpret web analytics and user research Thoughtfully conduct and clearly document competitive analyses and heuristic evaluations Collaborate closely with Content Owners, Web Technology, and other project team members to ensure user requirements are considered at all stages of the UX process Produce scalable taxonomies and metadata tagging for enterprise content management systems Effectively communicate through presentations, conversations, and documentation to a variety of audiences including business, technical, and creative teams Effectively aggregate and communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually Juggle multiple projects varying in size and complexity, prioritizing time and tasks as needed to meet deadlines Core deliverables include personas, scenarios, site maps, process flows, annotated wireframes/schematics, guideline documents, analytic conclusion documents) Skills
5+ years experience in user experience and information architecture processes and methodologies Minimum of 2 years in a role exclusively addressing user experience of large scale web sites, applications, or services Degree: Masters in related field, such as Human Factors, Psychology, or Engineering or Programming Superior understanding of user experience design processes and methodology High tolerance for ambiguity matched only by your desire to organize it Proficiency with rapid prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Axure, Visio, Omnigraffle, (optional: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) A proven desire to satisfy user goals Expert level attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills Thorough understanding of how to communicate effectively in a digital environment Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions Knowledge of HTML, CSS, scripting languages
