Hello,

We are designing a Web Application which needs the below listed components/Browser versions to be installed/enabled in the Browser.

  • Javascript Enabled
  • Internet Explorer 7/ Firefox 3.0/ Safari 3.1
  • Pop-Up Blockers
  • Accept Cookies
  • Flash 9 Plug-In
  • Java 1.5
When the user opens the App in the browser, we will show a page giving details of all components/ browser versions present/absent, enabled/disabled. If all the components/browser versions are present, the page is not shown. For example if Java 1.5 is not present, the message says Java 1.5 is not available. We will also give an option for the user to install.

Any Web App is implementing this kind of feature? If  so what is the user experience feedback? Your suggestions are appreciated.
