The Interactive Designer will be working on ideation and creation of totally new advertising experiences on the web and across Our Client’s other platforms. Additionally, the Designer will be a key member of one of the Software Giant’s Innovation teams, for the purpose of creating storyboards leveraging cutting-edge technologies. Once these products have been approved through the proper Editorial channels, been tested properly and have integrated Market Viability feedback, they will command $500k-$1M in revenue on the Software Giant Web Portal’s Home Page, and eventually scaled to other channels and portals for incremental "scaled" revenue opportunities for even further revenue impact.
Working closely with a team that includes Front-End Developers, Technology Integration Specialists, other Art Directors and Product Managers, the Product Conceptor will participate in brainstorming sessions and be expected to bring his/her visions to life from ideas discussed in those sessions. This person will also work very closely with the Product Developer and Art Directors to deliver creative concepts and potentially kick off the implementation in various software programs, in preparation of hand-off to a more skilled Developer.
This Designer should also have extensive experience developing well-thought-out User Interfaces, and should be able to clearly show work that caters to great user experiences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Create top-notch and engaging storyboard sequences that clearly display creative vision.
Oversee and potentially implement the conversion to prototyped solutions using various types of Design software.
Work closely with the Innovation team to ensure technical compliance and adherence to requirements.
Maintain high coding Standards and Practices, and exercise Quality Control in developing User experiences.
Implement "bleeding-edge" Flash/Silverlight technologies and understanding the features.
Integrate Market Viability feedback to increase confidence of market receptiveness.
Research technology and industry trends to stay ahead of the curve, and design compelling compositions that will "wow" agencies into buying new ad products.
Required Skills for this Product Designer position include the following:
Must possess expertise in Adobe Photoshop to show visuals
Ability to autonomously think "outside the box", not just execute somebody else’s ideas in a creative way
Working knowledge of 3D Animation, Particle Manipulation, Sound Visualization, Video Streaming technology and UX principles
Creative Tool Set knowledge and expertise (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Practical understanding of related Web Technologies (i.e. HTML, XML, AJAX, etc.)
Ability to recognize and push online advertising technical and creative boundaries
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively juggle diverse tasks
Patience to work with varying personalities to stay on task and maintain composure
A strong team player who will develop team relations that foster both learning and excellence
Proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity and meeting deadlines
BA Degree in Fine Arts or equivalent art school experience with a focus on the Interactive Arts
5+ years of experience as an Art Director in an Agency environment
5+ years of Online Advertising experience preferred
Portfolio (preferably online) and code samples required
