We are looking for an experienced development manager passionate about user interaction to lead and build out our newly formed User Experience Engineering team (UXE).

    Responsibilities  • As the manager of the UXE team you will manage the day-to-day execution as well as set the vision and direction for the User Experience Engineering Team.
• Manage and expand a team of senior level user-experience engineers
• You will be shaping the process around user focused development.
• Work directly with our lead UI designer, Symantec’s dedicated User Centered Design (UCD) team, and product management to develop and drive the direction of user experience for the next generation of DLP’s product suites.
• Own and expand the current UI frontend
• Coordinate with designers, developers, and product management
• Driving a consistent user experience focused process across the larger engineering team
    Qualifications  • BS in CS, Mathematics or Development and equivalent experience
• Minimum 5-8 years of industry experience
• Minimum 2 -3 years experience as a manager (ideally leading hosted web applications, prior experience with the web environment is highly desirable.) with direct developer reports
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including collaboration for engineering process improvements
• Passionate about user experience
• Experience with user-centered design processes
• Experience in Java and web-based UI technologies
• Experience working in an agile environment desirable (sprint based, frequent PM interactions)
