IxDA Board Retreat - We welcome your thoughts
The IxDA Board of Directors will be meeting for our annual retreat Aug. 6 - 8 in Boulder, Colorado, home to Interaction11.
In preparation, we'd like to gather any feedback, comments, questions, or ideas you may have for us. Your thoughts could have great impact on our agenda. http://bit.ly/bWOh3K
In order to best achieve IxDA's mission to advance the discipline of Interaction Design, the Board has identified the following as some key areas to discuss:
1. IxDA's website, its role for the community and alternate models of community usage and engagement
2. Financial support of IxDA and its infrastructure - alternate ways of sponsorship, volunteering, fundraising or membership models beyond the base core value
3. Local groups support regionally and globally
4. Community catalysts - how can we best foster conversations, knowledge sharing, and resource creation around important topics
Do you have any thoughts on these or other topics you believe we should be considering? We welcome you to discuss them here or to provide your thoughts privately: http://bit.ly/bWOh3K
Many thanks,
Janna DeVylder
President, IxDA

3. When someone takes the time to complete the group creation request form thingy ... ensure someone bothers to get in touch with them. When after several weeks they use the normal contact form to ask for confirmation it was received, while recognising everyone is a volunteer and isn't pushing for something to happen, just take the 30secs to email back and confirm if the request is sitting waiting for someone to have the time to look at it or not.
If that sounded a little bit less hypothetical than it could have been, what can I say!
