The Call for Proposals to co-host Interaction 12 has now formally closed. I'd like to thank all of the groups who showed interest in the process and the opportunity to bring the IxDA's conference to their city.
Submissions will be reviewed and evaluated over the coming few days. Groups may be contacted for clarification of their proposal, but material changes to the submission will not be permitted.
Two locations will be shortlisted and presented to the IxDA Board at the end of next week when the Board meets in person. The intention is to present a preferred co-host, along with a second option for consideration. All 5 groups will be notified ahead of the Board meeting as to whether they have been shortlisted.
The final selection will be made by August 27.
I'm very thankful for the level of effort and thought that has gone into each proposal. It gives me great confidence that, whichever location is selected, Interaction 12 will be a truly enjoyable, engaging, and stimulating event for attendees.
The following groups have submitted proposals for consideration:
Berlin, Germany. University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, IxDA Berlin and newthinking communications GmBH with support by the Senate of Berlin (Creative Industries Initiative)
Delft, Netherlands. TU Delft, with support from IxDA Netherlands, Johnny Holland, and the local design community
Dublin, Ireland. IADT and IxDA Dubin with support from Dublin Convention Bureau (Dublin Regional
Tourism Authority), Dublin City Council and Fáilte Ireland
Helsinki, Finland. Aalto University School of Art and Design, and IxDA Helsinki
Paris, France. ENSCI-Les Ateliers, Cap Digital, CNAM, Arts-et-Métiers ParisTech and IxDA Paris
All questions relating to the selection process should be directed to email@example.com. Responses will be appended to this thread.
Many thanks for your interest and support. We're very excited to be taking Interaction 12 to one of these fabulous cities.
