UX Information Architect, Contract, Redmond, WA

12 Months Contract Onsite
Responsible for creating information architecture documents for
applications and user interfaces to be deployed on various platforms ranging
from web, desktop (win7 point/click & touch), kiosks, Microsoft Surface and
large scale touch & multi-touch hardware. Candidate needs to be able to
translate BRDs (Business Requirement Documents) into detailed Information
Architecture documents.
Candidate should also have design skills and be able to take a design
concept and flush out all necessary content and secondary pages based on an
approved design direction.
Candidate should have strong knowledge in writing functionality design
specifications, designing and implementing prototypes, mock ups, task analysis,
usability studies, personas, user flows, wireframes, style guides, navigational
structures, and affinity diagrams, generating user experience interaction ideas,
presenting and selling designs to product group, understanding customer needs
and motivations and how to integrate them into product design solutions to
contribute to user features and functionality.
Candidate will act as consultant to other team leads and may manage
external production and design resources.
Qualifications:
5 plus years work related experience required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead role.
Strong knowledge of user interface and functionality design required.
Strong creative skills and ability to generate design ideas required.
Advanced experience in creating and implementing usability studies,
personas, user flows, wireframes, style guides, navigational structures, and
affinity diagrams is required.
Advanced knowledge of web technologies (i.e.
HTML and CSS).
Fluency with standard design software tools (Photoshop,
Illustrator, etc) required. Advanced interaction design and web technology
skills (i.e. Flash) may be required.
Understanding of the Microsoft Stack
and Toolset (Microsoft Expression Suite)
Experience working with rich client
or web applications preferred.
Must be familiar with industry standards and
trends.
Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work
independently and as part of a team required.
Must have ability to own and
drive projects.
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
