Newspaper company looking for a UX mentor
I work for the
newspaper division of E.W. Scripps, and - due to an increased interest in user
experience by the execs - our small UX team is tasked with defining the term as
it relates to our business as well as defining a strategy for applying UX
principles to existing products and new projects.
What a mouthful.
Needless to say we've been chomping at the bit to do this for years now. I feel
we're up to the task, however we could use some backup from a seasoned UX
professional. I can present a strategy to the execs, but I need to be able to
say, "By the way, Usability Expert X from this Fortune 100 company Y has
worked alongside our team and given our proposed strategy a thumbs up."
Anyone up to the task? I'd just ask for an hour a week to bounce ideas, review
a doc or two and maybe drop in on a conference call every once in a while.
E-commerce folks are welcome!
And, yes, you guessed it... we're hoping for a volunteer.

I'm sure there are a lot of people on the list willing to pitch in with some backup, including myself. What kinds of information / support do you need? Ironicall, several of the people I work with at Monster.com are former Scripps people.
