reading recommendations please
Hi all: I'm transitioning to Interaction Design. I'm currently pursuing a Masters in Library and Information Science.
I think I need to do some self-study to suppliment what I'm learning in my program. So I am soliciting suggestions for books to read; topics might include:
Interaction Design -- and I'm interested in materials that touch on ID beyond the computer.
Cognitive Psychology
Color Theory
General design books that might be helpful
Human-Computer Interaction
Anything else you suggest (either titiles or topics)
Books I have already:
Don Norman's Design of Everyday Things
Information ARchitecture (aka the Polar Bear book)
Interaction Design: Beyond Human Computer INteraction (Sharpe, Rogers, Preece)
A Project Guide to UX Design (Unger and Chandler)
Comments
Some of my favs:
Where are you pursuing your degree?
Best, Marcus

'About Face 3' (that's the name of the latest edition), though it hardly discusses IxD beyond the Software/Computers scope, is a must read. I'm also transitioning to the field, like you and this book has answered some very key questions. Hope it does the same for you.
These are all good suggestions.. To add some more theory to the mix I would suggest reading:
