Job Description
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience that includes activities related to one or more of the
following: interaction design, content strategy, information architecture,
human computer interaction, digital product design. 5+ years of experience that
includes activites related to one or more of the following: interaction design,
content strategy, information architecture, human computer interaction, digital
product design. Experience applying user research and usability testing
methodologies to derive user insight and test the effectiveness of design work.
Editorial, Media and entertainment (working in Television, Radio, Print, or
other related media field.) desired but not required. Minimum: Bachelor's
Degree. Preferred (but not necessary): Master's Degree in Cognitive Psychology,
Industrial Design, Anthropology, Product Design, HCI, Information Design or
similar discipline. Communication - Excellent oral and written communication
skills. Multi-Task - Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
Collaborative -- Works well with others to support shared goals. Analytical -
Effective problem solving and analytical skills. Creative - Demonstrated
ability to develop creative solutions. Presentation - Meeting facilitation and
presentation skills. Job Knowledge - Good mix of editorial, design, business,
and technical understanding.
Duties: The Sr. UX Architect will work closely with editorial and design staff
to help turn content into intuitive experience designs, page designs,
application designs, navigation flows, and interaction models through the use
of user flows, sitemaps, user scenarios and wireframes. Candidates should be
experienced working with design and content teams to whiteboard, brainstorm,
and concept solutions for complex storytelling, organization, and navigation
challenges. This role will work closely with other departments including
editorial, product development, web development, video, project management, ad
sales, marketing and others. Projects will include designing the UI and
interaction guidelines for special reports, custom interactives and
next-generation, forward-thinking projects. Creating sitemaps, wireframes, and
user flows. Creating intuitive and innovative interaction and navigation
models. Gathering & documenting front-end requirements. Experience leading
workshops and presentations on high-level concepts and strategies with and to
stakeholders. Help establish and maintain consistency, elegance, and intuitive
excellence across the CNN Digital experience through pattern libraries and
common standards and processes. Ability to do light project management,
including coordination of small teams and projects (with internal stakeholders
and external agency partners.)
