Healthcare-CCHIT Usability Evaluation

Hi All,We were planning to go for CCHIT usability evaluation for a Ambulatory EMR. If any one here been through this certification process, request you to share your experiences.

  • Can we opt for Usability Rating independent of other CCHIT (ARRA) certifications?
  • Are the test scenarios derived from CCHIT test scripts are they provided by vendors?
  • Do we have any sample scenarios that can be shared
  • Any tips that can help in preparing for this?

I work as a analyst for an EHR.  

CCHIT should provide all test scripts prior to certification - you should be able to find these from their website.  I'm not sure if there is a Usability Rating outside of being ONCHIT certified - if there is  - I'm not sure it will hold much weight with prospective customers due to the fact that almost every EHR/EMR is pushing for government certification so that the physicians can receive their meaningful use incentive money.

Hi Justin,Thanks for the reply, we are opting towards Drummond for ONCHIT certification and looking at the possibility of going to CCHIT for usability rating. Please share any information available on this.
