User First provides monthly education sessions on eye tracking and web analytics, minus the sales pitch. Workshop leader and UX advocate Leslie Chacon, founder of User First, will begin by explaining the technology of the equipment and methods of design, followed by the metrics and data that is delivered, plus a live demo with 1-2 volunteers from the audience.

A note from NYC UPA President Gloria Petron:

Leslie has assured me that neither she nor her colleagues wear lab coats, and that there are no electrodes involved at any time.

Space is limited to 30, and Pace is springing for coffee and doughnuts.

As an accomplished usability expert, Leslie has focused on exploring the value of eye tracking within qualitative and quantitative research studies. With this in mind, Leslie founded her own company, User First. As the principal of User First, Leslie is responsible for architecting the company’s integrated business intelligence and research offering which empowers companies to make decision based on customer insights and behavioral knowledge. Prior to forming User First, she served as a Business Intelligence and Market Research Analyst at Sony and consulted for various interactive agencies. She earned a bachelor's degree in market research from New Jersey University, and is working on her master's degree in cognitive psychology at San Diego State University.
