Job Description

Our client located in Down Town Atlanta has an Expert Interaction Designer role for a 6 month + contract with possible perm opportunity.  The Expert Interaction Designer position will focus on the user experience design that defines the structure and behavior of the client's products.  This position will help the team create usable and desirable products and services that satisfy specific user needs, busniess goals and technical constraints. This position will receive guidance from Senior level team members (Sr Project Manager, Tech Lead, and Management). 

The Expert Interaction Designer will help define best practices for interactive desgin efforts and help teams in developing usable products, as well as, contribute to the conceptual design and functional design of custom built applications.

Define personas, scenarios, and requirements to guide design, inspire clients and build consensus for existing and new applications that establish and adhere to user-centered conventions and standards.

Assist the team with understanding customer needs, as well as business and functional requirements. Work closely with the product team to define requirements.

Work with the team to create detailed design and functional specifications (storyboards, wireframes, workflows, mockups, prototypes, specifications) that effectively communicate the information design and interaction design. Help develop, present and document detailed interaction and functional specifications.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, visual designers, and business analysts.

Work with developers to make designs a reality and ensure they meet the intended user interaction.

Assist with the design and creation of product prototypes. Participate in usability testing

3 years experience in interactive design, information architecture

Solid knowledge of user interface and information principles, a basic knowledge of human cognitive development or response (such as psychology, education, library or information science).

A blend of big picture design ideas with detail orientation, and an obsession for consistency. Proven ability to be a customer advocate; ability to apply strategic thinking and business goals to design work

Have strong visualization and prototyping skills, comfort working in multidisciplinary teams. Ability to effectively communicate design decisions to varied audiences

 

Knowledge of online coding languages, limitations and expectations including but not limited to XML, HTML, and CSS, and basic knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery

Familiarity of primary Microsoft Windows .NET development languages; C# or Visual Basic.NET.  Must have the ability to create application prototypes.

Solid understanding of Windows and Web User Interface development.

Demonstrated proficiency  with appropriate software tools, such as,  Microsoft Expression Blend, Adobe Creative Suite, DreamWeaver, or Coda

Experience working on agile development projects a plus
