is seeking a UI Designer to join its External Payment Services group.
We are a new business unit within Amazon responsible for innovating on
top of Amazon’s trusted payment platform and building web and mobile
consumer products for Amazon’s over 200 million customers worldwide.
We’re
in need of a senior designer that has experience working with large
scale projects (with dedicated business owners), while creating
innovative user-centered design experiences.
We need a highly
motivated, self-directed, and enthusiastic person that truly has a
passion for user-centered design. You must enjoy working on multiple
projects, and thrive on the challenges associated with working with
technical owners and business owners, while being a persuasive advocate
for the end-user.
You will be responsible for the architecture,
interaction flow, aesthetics, design, and presentation of projects that
directly affect our customers. In the course of your work you will be
interacting with and presenting to a wide variety of disciplines,
ranging from Usability to Senior Management. You should feel comfortable
working with and communicating with all of them.
Work may get a bit crazy at times, but will be equally exciting and fun.
Successful
candidates will be able to demonstrate solid user-interface design and
graphic design skills, and have a good understanding of the relationship
between content, user interface, and technology. You must be able to
quickly create customer experience flows, generate wire-frames, and
iterate on design prototypes with the ability to make positive decisions
affecting the user-experience. Your designs will be viewed by millions
of customers and have a sizable impact on the creative direction of
External Payments as we move forward.
Basic Qualifications
-Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional experience designing interfaces on large scale projects.
-Be able to demonstrate creative and process skills as they relate to interface design
-A four-year degree in web design, graphic design or related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with JavaScript, CSS and XML is preferred
-A
professional portfolio of work that demonstrates process, design, and
shows a commanding knowledge of user-centered design projects is
expected.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills,
including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large
groups, to all levels of the organization
-Articulate design concepts and prototypes, with the ability to define your “vision” for the project in a variety of ways…written, visually and verbally
-A mastery of web standards, design principles, and scalable dynamic GUIs
-Expert skill level in the standard tools of the trade; Photoshop, DreamWeaver, HTML, etc.
