2011 User Experience Salary Survey
I see there are already a lot of threads pointing to UX salary surveys. I have tried a few and either the links don't exist anymore or the data is very old.
I'd like to offer you a picture of salaries in London as they stand, and I hope people could do the same for Cities across the US. Of particular interest is New York, San Francisco and LA.
London:
Salaries are similar whether you are a UX researcher / IA / IxD. Visual UI design salaries tend to be slightly lower unless it is for mobile specifically. In the UK the senior title tends to be used after 5 years of commercial experience with mid-level being 2-5 years.

Sean... you might try looking at Glassdoor.com. Seems to be a pretty good resource for salary and other information on all kinds of positions. Granted, it's user submitted so it may not be fully encompassing, but it will give you a rough idea of IxD here in the states.
Cheers!David
