IIT - Design Summer Camp 2011 Europe
Date: May 23 2011 - May 27 2011
Location: Berlin, Germany
Website: http://trex.id.iit.edu/events/designsummercamp
[About This Event]
As companies have reached a point where they can produce virtually anything, a larger strategic question has emerged about what to produce. Where standard business practices promote risk reduction and efficiency, they do little in the
way of fostering innovations. As a result, Design has gained increased prominence in recent years for its abilities to create value for organizations.
Learn how to leverage design methods to increase your organization's innovation effectiveness during a five-day immersion Design Summer Camp-Berlin conducted by faculty of the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago. During the week, participants will engage in research, analysis, idea generation and prototyping in the process of addressing a real-world problem. The program is aimed at professionals responsible for strategy, planning and innovation.
This is a unique opportunity to experience how design leads to competitive advantage, in an environment that is informative, thought provoking and fun.
A number of global market leading companies have participated in this program in the U.S., and it is now being offered for the first time in Europe.
Branded by the UNESCO as the „City of Design", Berlin is the currently one of the most heated creative places in Europe. Design Summer Camp in Berlin will take place at betahaus. http://betahaus.de/
Located in the heart of the city, amid hundreds of restaurants, cafes, bars, and hotels, betahaus was built in classic Berlin industrial style. The venue operates as a working space for creative professionals. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshments will be catered daily on site by a top international chef. Participants will enjoy dinner at a variety of local restaurants in the city.
