Evaluate, plan and design user-based solutions for web,
mobile, desktop, kiosk and more.
Work with various clients and their teams to define the
goals, requirements, structure, navigation, and functionality of effective and
engaging user interactions
Design and document interactive solutions through tools such
as wireframes, user flow diagrams, information architecture diagrams,
electronic prototypes and written reports, ensuring that the user experience
satisfies expectations for utility and ease-of-use while meeting related
business objectives and requirements
Participate in usability studies and other forms of user
Provide support to other UM team members in a project
Contribute to the ongoing business development of Usability
Interest in and aptitude for user experience design and
evaluation as demonstrated by one or more of the following:
Experience contributing to online user experiences as a
project manager, content specialist, visual designer, developer or other team
Experience evaluating user experiences
Relevant education in areas such as information or
interaction design, human computer interaction, digital communications, etc.
Some knowledge of user testing methods, user-centred design
methods, and their related techniques
Ability to operate independently and effectively within a
College or university graduate in a related discipline or
Ability to present concepts and work-in-progress to clients
in a professional manner that demonstrates expertise
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience writing detailed reports
Ability to think/communicate at the conceptual as well as
the tactical level
Ability to become a subject matter expert quickly through
research and interviewing
Experience with web development processes and life cycles
Strong understanding of the Internet and Web technologies
Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and
Omnigraffle (or other visualization software)
Graphic design and/or technical expertise is welcomed
French fluency, oral and written, is a strong asset
This opportunity may be filled by contract (minimum 6 months) or
full-time, depending on the suitability and preference of the selected
