I just moved here from DC. Working with GE Healtchare as a Sr. Interaction Designer. Looking to get hooked into the design community. What's going on out here?
My partner (Hunter Sebresos) and I have just set up shop here in Utah. We too are looking forward to getting hooked in to the IxDA community. Anyone know of any events that have been planned or who's been recently active out here?

There's definitely not enough going on in the interaction design community here. So I think it's up to us to get it going.
I know that @jjuvenal has an interaction/ux book club in Utah County every month, but I haven't gone yet although I do want to. You might want to contact him to see when it is.
Anthony, I heard back from @jjuvenal (not sure if he's on this list too). He does host the book club for anyone interested. Here is his response to me:

We recently had a meetup to get things started again. Garth Braithwait and I were taking the reigns. However Garth is moving to Vegas so we will be looking for someone else to co-manage if anyone is interested. We're planning another meeting for June 16th and there is also the book club on June 28th. These activites are usually posted here:http://ixdautah.groupsite.com/main/summary
