lets decide on when and where can we meet and what books/papers we can start with,I'll post a list of 12 books by the end of this week. Any suggestions can be made on this thread.
here is a list of five introductory books that are almost in all recommended reading list.
Starters: 1. The Design of Everyday Things - D. A. Norman 2. Emotional Design - D. A. Norman 3. Designing Web Usability - J. Nielsen 4. Interaction Design - H. Sharp, Y. Rogers & J. Preece 5. The Humane Interface - J. Raskin
I'll be adding more to list as we go...
Please comment/add books that you find relevant to discussion.
We can start with "The Design of Everyday Things" by D. A. Norman for the month of August.let's fix a meetup for the last week of Aug to discuss the book.I've created a g+ account with name "HCI Reading Group Bangalore" so we can have hangouts if its not physically possible for everyone to be in the same place but I'll prefer meeting over once in a month. Please add your self to the circle let me know if you need invites for g+.
so I have good/bad news to share,as I am fairly conservative when it comes to meals I'll save the dessert for the last course.
Bad news g+ has draconian naming policy and won't allow any name that's a group or anyone who dream of electric sheep,Big G has deleted the account and with it goes the list of group members that were part of It.
now the good news Stanford is going to start online course on HCI from jan 2012,I think there will be some good stuff to learn from there.I hope you guys join it.If you have any suugestion about meetup, grouping up on some other forum please drop me a line.I'll respond quickly.
