Any ideas why iPhone calendar doesn't have "week" view. Apple is known for thier design prowess so they must have thought this through, I'm just curious. Could it be as simple as there's evidence that people don't use week view that much so it was dropped to conserve space.

You know, I kept forgetting it was there, but you can access the week view on your iPhone calendar by rotating the device sideways.

Not the most discoverable mechanism, to be sure. I think you would be correct in guessing “people don’t use week view that much,” on average — and more importantly, there is no need to use week view, no hidden major functionalty there.

Apple is known for "Progressive disclosure". It only shows you some advance features if you really interested in using. In any apple products, some advance features can only be acessed via shortcuts or by activating them from external tools like OnyX (for mac). To use Apple products to the fullest, you have to do some research on Google. With that, you can get the most of it.

Screen size. Week view would be functionally useless in Portrait mode.
