opportunities for a Software Engineer

Hi everyone!

I'm a student who is probably going for a Software Engineering BSc degree in the UK. All the universities that I have interest in, have some kind of focus on design and the creative parts.

But I'm wondering, because I'm sure I going to end up in the IxD/HCI field.
What i want to know is the following....

• Am I going the wrong direction by going for a SE degree and then taking my masters or PHD in IxD related fields?
• What other options do I have? I feel like an SE - BSc degree will help in getting the "big picture" so that I can specialize later on.
