Hi Folks,

Some of you may already be aware of this (thanks to whoever is in charge of the IxDA Dublin Twitter stream for promoting us!), but we're going to be running Dublins first Design Jam on September 1st in the amazing offices of Furious Tribe on Hume Street. This is the second Design Jam to be held in Ireland after the success of our first event in Limerick back in April. You can get more info on the website: http://www.designjam.ie or on the Eventbrite page http://designjamdublin.eventbrite.com

Obviously everyone in this group is more than welcome to come and we'd love to see you all there! What I'm primarily highlighting here at the moment however is the need for three volunteers on the day to work with us as design 'mentors' for the teams involved. This role is sort of a cross between walking skill repository, idea factory, inspirational leader of people (:D) and project manager. You'll obviously be briefed before the start of the event, and there'll be perks for Mentors in the form of food, drink and kudos. Despite what it might sound like, this is actually one of the most fun roles on the day, as you have the opportunity to influence and teach every team involved on the day. Nor is it actually that difficult, for the most part teams will be made up of relatively experienced designers with a mix of those who want to learn and those with a more general interest in design.

If anyone is interested in taking part in this role, please send me an e-mail at billy@designjam.ie

Of course, even if you're not interested in being a design mentor, we'd love to see you there, so grab a ticket and we'll see you then!

Billy,
Design Jam Dublin
