Reminder - Dynamic Web Pages: Effective Use of Ajax Webinar

We're running some of our Guerrilla UCD webinars in private sessions for one of the world's best known telecoms companies. Let us know if you need something special: you can pick the time, tweak the content and share the recordings with your whole organization (rather than just an individual team).

We've come a long way from the page-at-a-time interaction model used in early web sites, to the highly dynamic components of today. But which approaches are most effective for users and mobile platforms such as touch screens? Which are counter-productive, severely reducing search engine hits or creating a frustrating experience for users?

This webinar introduces the basic concepts of Ajax but focuses on the user-experience aspects including perceptual problems caused by too much interaction, as well as the more traditional usability issues of too little interaction. You'll learn about the basic principles of robust web design and how to use interactivity effectively for a good user experience.

Join the live webinar Thursday 13 September @ 16:30 London time. Or if you can't make it download the recording which is usually available the next day. We'll be covering

  • Basic principles of Ajax
  • Ajax versus other approaches to interactivity
  • Perceptual issues - change blindness, inattention blindness
  • Flow
  • Ajax, SEO and accessibility
  • A worked example (warning: includes some HTML and JavaScript!)

For more information or to register, visit Log into the 'My Webinars' page once you've registered to have easy access to all of the downloadable resources.

The cost of this session is €66 / £55 / $88 with a 5-for-the-price-of-4 discount available. See for full details.

Number 9 in the series, Writing Effective Web & Intranet Content is scheduled for 27 Sep. See
