I'm working on a project to develop user research, and we're interested in what software tools people use for recruiting. Do you use installed software and databases or services? What do you use? Thanks!

Recruitment service providers will often use a bought product to assist with their day to day activities. This normally takes the form of desktop or distributed web software with a DB back end. There are a few market leaders but in general there's a lot of choice and new options appear every day.

Ethnio is a great recruiting tool for remote UX research! It's mostly used for live recruiting but can also be used for building a participant pool. It's simple, easy to use, elegant, and customizable. You can integrate it with other third party tools, keep track of your participant information, as well as automatically pay incentives from the same account. Try it for free and play around creating screeners if you'd like. I'm the Community Manager for ethnio and would love for you guys to give it a try and let me know what you think (as we're in process of a major redesign and always appreciate feedback about what other UX researchers & designers find useful). Hope this helps, and best of luck!
