Lately we have been trying to better understand best practices in tablet use to enhance learning in schools:

Forthcoming travel to San Francisco/Bay Area and Toronto (for the Interaction13 conference) provides us with some opportunities to visit some best practices.
Does anyone in the community have suggestions of schools to visit or people to meet in either of these cities/areas?
Thank you very much,

Try OISE - Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, which is part of the University of Toronto (yay my Alma Mater!). Definitely on the forefront of understanding technology and education - I remember taking part in a study in grade school in the early 80s that these folks were running on CSILE. I'm not sure how much research work OISE does specific to secondary school, but as part of the U of T network they probably work with UTS, which is a private high school.
