M*Modal is looking for a talented Visual Designer to join our Pittsburgh Based UX team

We are the leading innovator in the field of conversational documentation services (CDS) where speech recognition and natural language understanding are combined in a unique setup targeted to truly understand conversational speech and turn it into actionable and meaningful data. Our proprietary speech understanding technology – operating on M*Modal’s computed grid hosted in our national data centers – is redefining the way clinical information is captured in healthcare.

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated and technically excellent Visual Designer to join our User Experience Design team. We are seeking a Designer with a track record of creating polished designs for complex enterprise software in a rapidly changing environment.

 

YOU ARE...

• known for being a team player who enjoys working with designers and developers
• self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal instruction and supervision
• willing to work to meet goals regardless of hours
• able to work on multiple products at the same time and quickly switch context
• interested in the healthcare industry

YOU WILL... 

• define and maintain a cohesive and consistent cross-platform visual language
• create polished designs from scratch and based on mockups and prototypes
• generate detailed design specs for software developers
• create appealing UI elements (e.g icons, buttons, images...)
• occasionally create designs for presentations, posters, flyers, etc.
• drive design thinking and champion the design vision across the organization

YOU SHOULD HAVE... 

• familiarity with the processes, techniques and methods of UCD
• solid knowledge of core design principles (typography, hierarchy, color...)
• ability to visualize powerful ideas in a simple, yet elegant manner
• proficiency with common design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)  
• awareness of platform requirements and constraints (desktop, mobile, web...)
• strong communication and presentation skills
• B.S./M.S. degree in a design-related field or at least 2 years of relevant experience

IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF YOU ALSO... 

• have experience with speech technology
• are familiar with web technologies (HTML, CSS)
• have experience in a healthcare field
