UX/UI/GUI Design Training Courses in the UK
Hi
I wonder if you can help me.
I have worked in website design in the past designing websites for a large maritime organisation. I have been employed on a project to redevelop an existing software system and part of my role will be to review and input on the design of the GUI.
So I would be keen to learn more about UX/UI and GUI design.
Does anyone have any suggestions about where to look?
Thanks
Suzy

A bit old fashioned I know but I always turn to books when I want to learn new things. Two good interaction design books in my little library are:
1. About Face – The Essentials of Interaction Design by Cooper and Reimann
2. Designing for Interaction by Dan Saffer
After filling your mind with good practise, probably the best thing you can do is to always ask questions and explore alternatives.
I'm holding a one-evening lesson in a few weeks. It's focused on wireframes, but if you want to, can be a good way to start getting into it. :)

The book suggestion is very good. :)
I also believe in the power of books.
Feel free to have a look at these websites. They are so helpful to me and I hope for you too:
UX Mastery Resources: Books
Whitney Hess: So You Wanna Be a User Experience Designer - Step 1: Resources
UX Booth: User Experience Books
Good luck!
There is a list of professional courses and academic courses on the UXPA UK website that might be useful.
