Regional Coordinators

IxDA's Regional Coordinators sustain and coordinate the growth of local groups internationally. Regional Coordinators are nominated from the IxDA community and volunteer their time.

Tonia Bartz (United States)

Tonia M. Bartz is an people-watcher and user advocate armed with a Masters in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management from Kent State University. By day, she is the User Experience Research Lead at Honeywell Aerospace, ensuring project teams have the data needed to make informed decisions.

At night, her focus switches to the local and UX communities, where she is an IxDA North American Local Group Regional Coordinator, co-founder of Smunch, a local monthly brunch meetup in the Phoenix area, and a member of Tap that Ass, a local performance tap troupe.

In her free time, she enjoys karaoke, unicorns, cats, and obstacles courses for both herself and her jeep, Roxie.

Rikki Teeters (United States)

Rikki is passionate about creating a better future for humanity — one experience at a time. She has devoted her life to making both digital and physical interactions more human.

After studying Interaction Design at Miami University, Rikki pursued her love of design and technology by entering the field of UX. To further her understanding of user's mind, Rikki became a Certified Usability Analyst in 2013. She has conducted user research, usability testing, and user centered design practices, to create engaging experiences for Fortune 500 companies, complex international brands, and on the verge start-ups.

Rikki stays active in the international UX community by speaking at industry conferences and maintaining her role as Regional Coordinator for IxDA North America. She is now an Experience Architect at Rockfish Interactive.

Erico Fileno (Brazil)

Erico Fileno is an interaction designer in Brazil, working since 1995 with information architecture, usability and design in interactive projects and digital services. He's been involved in UX research and design thinking for more than 15 years. Early 2000s he was pioneer for igniting service design thinking and interaction design movements in Brazil. He's founder of the first Brazilian Interaction Design Institute that offered an international level postgraduate programme. At IxDA he is co-founder of Interaction South America Conference and a great supporter of the area in the LATAM market. Local Leader since 2007 (IxDA Curitiba) and Curator/Chairman of Interaction South America 2010. Today he's coordinating an Human-Centered Design Program at Universidade Positivo and he's design director at Welab Design and Innovation.

Yamila Martina (Argentina)

Yamila is an Interaction Designer with 9+ years of experience in the IT field. She’s worked with clients like Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Mindshare (WPP), ABC Bank, Daily Mail Group, LAN Airlines, and Barclays among others. She enjoys mentoring startups about bringing value to their market through User Experience. She also teaches Interface Design at La Metro (Córdoba, Argentina).

One of the main goals of her professional life has been to spread the voice about Interaction Design, since 2011 she is IxDA Local Leader and co-founder of the Córdoba, Argentina chapter. Now she is the chairwoman of the Interaction South America 2015 conference and Regional Coordinator for IxDA LATAM.

Wayne Coughlan is from Cape Town, South Africa and is a co-local leader for IxDA Cape Town. He teaches in the Graphic Design Program of the Faculty of Informatics & Design at Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

Birgit is a Creative Director UX, Visual & Interaction Designer holding an MA in Graphic Design. She has 16 years of professional experience in the United States and Europe, working for clients such as Olympus, the EDEKA Group, Monster, The Seattle Times and Toyota.

In addition to being the founder and local leader of the IxDA Hamburg chapter, she shows her enthusiastic engagement for the community through further activities such as supporting the inaugural Interaction Awards as the Co-Chair Outreach Europe 2012. We are thrilled to have Birgit continue her support of the IxDA community as the Regional Coordinator for Europe.

Jay Dutta (India)

Jay Dutta, abbreviated to JD, heads User Experience discipline for Flipkart - India's largest (and arguably the most visible) e-commerce brand. For over half a decade, he led and grew the UX practice at Adobe India, covering a diverse spectrum of Adobe products and digital platforms.

Jay has consistently built high-performance teams in digital product design and branding domains that have delivered time-critical multi-million dollar projects. In his new role, his design team will be responsible for creating the next-gen experiences across Flipkart's multiple consumer facing digital-touch points.

An alumnus of NID, Jay has an MSc in Design Management from UK, has been a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, London. He is on the Board of Advisors for Nasscom's UX Centre of Excellence, a Mentor for D.Labs at the Indian School of Business and Asia Pacific Regional Co-ordinator for IxDA.

Living and working across diverse geos such as UK, US, India, Ireland, China, Madagascar, Germany and South Africa, gives Jay a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures.
