Inaugural IxDA Phoenix Meet Up

I am pleased to announce that Phoenix's local IxDA group will hold
it's inaugural meet up this Tuesday, March 10th at 6pm. Gangplank
(http://www.gangplankhq.com) in Chandler has graciously allowed us to
use their space for this event. Gangplank is a collaborative
workspace so laptops, cameras, and other gadgets are encouraged.

If you're planning on stopping by, be ready to get your hands dirty.
IxDA Phoenix is focused on not only bringing the community in Phoenix
together but bringing the community together for a purpose.

IxDA Value and Purpose

Hello All,

I'm excited to be able to tell you about some work the Board has recently completed.

At our Board retreat earlier this month, the Board (http://www.ixda.org/about_leadership.php) reaffirmed and clarified the mission of our organization. I am just so excited to be able to share this with you, and I hope that after you've had a chance to read and discuss, that you'll share my enthusiasm.

IxDA has always been dedicated to two propositions.

Is it just my imagination or...

have the discussion lists I have followed for years - SIGCHI and STC
Usability - been abandoned in favor of IxDA? I have all my professional
discussions filtered into one folder, to read when I have time, and notice a
dramatic drop in postings from the two I mention. The names of those who
post, however, has changed much less.

I assume most of us have limited time to read and write discussion posts, so
it make sense to focus on a forum that gives the most bang for the buck.

IxDA Savanna - Call for Authors and Books

Hi All,

As the unofficial librarian, I am calling out to all IxDA members that are
authors. For the IxDA conference in Savannah, Dave M came up with the
brilliant idea of making sure that the SCAD bookstore was carrying as many
IxD, IA, UX related books and has asked me to compile a list to send to the
bookstore. In the spirit of community, I want to make sure that at the top
of the list given to the bookstore are fellow IxDA members.
