Call for Submissions: Interaction08

[Apologies for the Cross-Posting]

The Interaction Design Association (IxDA) is now accepting
submissions for its first annual conference to be held in hip,
historic Savannah, Georgia, USA on February 8-10, 2008.

Submissions are for Lightning Session slots, each of which is 25
minutes in duration around a single topic. Single or duo speakers are
allowed, but no panels, please. Please submit only one idea per
person.

New beta.ixda.org ready for community to use and evaluate

Dear IxDA Community:

We have some great news for everyone!

It's with great excitement that the IxDA Board of Directors announces
the availability of the beta version of a new IxDA community
experience. Through the efforts of IxDA volunteers, and spearheaded by
community member Jeff Howard, we are pleased to launch the beta
version at:

We believe this effort is the start of creating a new kind of
professional organization.

Hello all,

After reading and posting here for a while, I believe that a great
deal of our unresolved disagreements are caused by the various types
of projects we work on. Certainly the consumer facing information web
site has different design constraints than the inward facing
corporate application. These may not be taken into account when
discussing our favorite approach such as UCD or GCD or whatever it is
Hoekman does (sorry Robert, just messing with you).

Welcome to IxDA: A Message from the President

Dear IxD Discussion and IxDA Announcements mailing list members,

I'm very pleased to announce a momentous occasion in the history of
interaction design.

On the 29th of September, the Interaction Design Group (IxDG), which
sponsors the IxD Discussion and IxDG—now IxDA—Announcements mailing lists,
officially incorporated under its new name, the Interaction Design
Association (IxDA).

Our name change represents much more than just a new identity.
