Hey folks, what are your favorite qualitative research labs and resources in NYC? Saw an old thread for this with lots of broken links - also include resource links if there's a thread that I'm not seeing that has a solid list.
They can include any and all of these:
- screening + recruiting
- on-site facilities for 1:1 and/or focus groups
It's largely ethnographic to aid in the development of customer personas around a product's domain as well as brand insights on an existing product.
Can you suggest reading materials that discuss application of ethnography to digital design? I have a lot of snippets and slideshares and deliverables, but am having trouble digging up more comprehensive resources on application to digital design for a friend.
Yogi Berra said, “You can observe a lot from watching.” Over the
last several years, a unique set of students has been challenged to
think about design for healthcare services. In my role as a professor
at Carnegie Mellon I had the opportunity to observe their work and it
offered many insights into design, design thinking, and just how big
the healthcare service challenge is. In my new role in Microsoft’s FUSE
lab I’m looking at the future of social experience.
I find this list group to be one of the most informative.
Here are my questions:
1. Can anyone recommend great consulting firms for true
ethnographic research and who employ trained ethnographers and/or
anthropologists? Some firms seem to be advertising ethnography when they
are just doing site visits.
2. As interaction designers which books have you found most
3. Is there anyone in the greater Pittsburgh area that would want
to have a F2F? If so I'd be happy to coordinate it.
