Types of Events

The IxDA Oresund local group is still in its infancy. I have some ideas and notes from the latest Interaction conference, on possible formats for the group. I would like to hear what you would prefer or desire for the group.

  • How often to have a meetup?
  • What kinds of meetups? Social meetups, presentations, demonstrations?
  • Share meetups between Copenhagen and Malmö?
  • If you are in Copenhagen, are you willing to travel to Malmö?

Magic Wish #2 for IxDA

Local groups are great. There are a lot of people who are working hard
to bring interaction designers and other interested folks together
locally on a regular basis.

Wouldn't it be great if local groups had a dedicated space that
brought events, discussions, and jobs into a local-centric space?
Wouldn't it be great if ixda.org could expand the ability of local
groups to communicate & collaborate?

Your wish is about to be granted:

IxDA Atlanta Design Slam Event, September 9th

IxDA Atlanta is hosting a design slam event the evening of September
9th, at Macquarium in Buckhead.

What's a design slam? Basically, it's a fun and collaborative event
around an interesting design problem posed by a client. Slam
participants group into teams who then devise and document design
solutions using simple tools like markers, paper, pencils, and
Post-it notes.

Announcing: Portland, OR F2F on May 30th

Hello my IxDA friends!

I'm hereby announcing the May Face-2-Face meeting in Portland, Oregon, USA
-- we're going to crash the IDSA Social event!*

Our last two F2F meetings have been focused on Case Study Workshop
discussions. But let's take a break from the program and meet some no-doubt
interesting colleagues in our sister discipline of Industrial Design! And as
always, please feel free to spread the word about this event to those who
care about IxD & ID!
